Three Day Tour of Burgundy
|
Our tour of Burgundy explores the soul of one of the most luxuriant and opulent parts of Europe, even of the world, a land so rich in its agriculture and commerce that for years the power of its rulers rivaled those of the Kings and Queens of France and England, while they also ruled much of what is now Belgium. This Burgundy tour takes you through a landscape that nature blessed with everything it could, to produce some of the most luxuriant agriculture, towns and architecture in the world, including its most storied wines.
Your tour of Burgundy also explores the psyche of its people, among the most proud in France. Parallels with Tuscany spring to mind, including many of the latter's admirable points and a few that are not. No Burgundy tour would be complete without a thorough exposure to the cuisine, cheese and wines of Burgundy, and this tour immerses you in all of it, an amazing palette of choice (100 appellations for wine alone). | |
| Paris Luxury Tours' Burgundy tour also visits inspiring seats of religious faith: idyllic Vezelay with its magic aura and majestic serenity presiding over an unforgettably vast Yonne panorama, as well as the haunting great Cistercian Abbey at Fontenay. |
Clos de Vougeot

|
We also take you to magnificent chateaux, such as Tanlay, Ancy le Franc or Sully. And during a drive through the fabled Cote des Nuits, we will stop at the world famous Clos de Vougeot, home of the Chevaliers du Tastevin, before visting Dijon to complete your Burgundy tour at the end of the Cote d'Or. You will also experience delightfully quaint villages.

Hotel Dieu of Hospices de Beaune
|
This tour of Burgundy requires three nights, one of which will be spent at Marc Meneau's unique 'L'Esperance' establishment in St. Pere, next to Vezelay, and two nights headquartered at 'Le Cep,' in the charming medieval town of Beaune, the capital of the Cote d'Or wine trade. In Beaune you will also visit the famous Hotel Dieu and the Hospices de Beaune. |
| On the return drive to Paris, your tour of Burgundy stops at the medieval towns of Avallon, Auxerre or Sens. If you have the time to spare, we can expand your Burgundy tour to four over-nights, or, if you are short of time, reduce it to two. Either way, Paris Luxury Tours will provide a guide who speaks native English and has expert knowledge of history and culture of Burgundy, and who will drive you in a luxurious vehicle that is chosen for comfort and excellent viewing characteristics. | |
